Regional at Best is the second studio album by American music duo Twenty One Pilots. It was self-released on July 8, 2011. Regional at Best is a discontinued album. It is the last album released by the band prior to signing a record deal with Fueled by Ramen, and it is the first album to feature the talents of Josh Dun who joined the band in 2011 after the departure of bassist Nick Thomas and drummer Chris Salih. The album features many tracks that also appear on Vessel, with some of them being rerecorded for the later album. As part of the band's deal with Fueled by Ramen to release Vessel, the album was discontinued, with no physical or digital copies available for sale. Only five tracks on Regional at Best do not feature on any other album and are considered out of print. Some of the album's tracks are available through the music streaming service Pandora.

Regional at Best was released on July 08, 2011 digitally and on CD. In addition to this the band also released a limited promotional 2-CD version through Tinderbox Music, with a view to getting radio play. The first disc was an exact copy of Regional at Best, whereas the second disc was a copy of the self titled album. In March 2015, a user on the website reddit found a copy and shared images of this limited release.
After signing with Fueled by Ramen in 2012, the rights to Regional at Best were transferred to the label. Along with the release of Vessel, Regional at Best was discontinued, no longer available digitally or physically except for on Pandora. As such, physical copies are highly sought after.
Five of the tracks from Regional at Best — Guns for Hands, Holding On To You, Ode To Sleep, Car Radio and Trees — were re-recorded and released on Vessel. In April 2013, prior to the release of Vessel, a re-recorded and altered version of Lovely was released as an exclusive promotional single in Japan and featured on the bonus track edition of Vessel. Glowing Eyes, Kitchen Sink and Forest were not re-recorded but were released, as they appear on Regional at Best, on the UK bonus edition of Vessel. As such, only five of the tracks from Regional at Best are available to purchase in the US, and five tracks — Slowtown, Anathema, Ruby, Be Concerned and Clear — are not available for purchase anywhere.
A seven episode web series accompanied the release of Regional at Best, covering the journey of the album's creation, release and promotion. These videos were uploaded to Twenty One Pilots' YouTube channel over the course of 2011.
